The Lions ownership has transferred from Martha Ford to Sheila Ford Hamp and Hamp recently stated that she is open to bringing Colin in. From what I’ve followed that is the first team owner saying in plain english that they want Colin on their team. We all know he is good enough to be a premium backup and start in spurts even with the time off.

The Detroit Lions may have changed owners on Tuesday, but the expectations from Sheila Ford Hamp — the daughter of former franchise owner Martha Ford — are remaining the same: Show major improvements from the last two seasons.
Hamp made that clear during a conference call announcing the transition of power from mother to daughter, months after both of them said when deciding to bring back general manager Bob Quinn and head coach Matt Patricia that they expected to be playing meaningful football in December.
Hamp said it was a family decision to keep Quinn and Patricia and that her siblings — all of whom are vice chairmen of the franchise — were also consulted. Hamp said Tuesday that for major decisions going forward she will continue to consult the family, including her mother, brother and two sisters, but ultimately the decisions will come down to her.
And she looks at her mother as a role model in how she wants to handle the Lions — having been by her side at league meetings, at games and other functions during the six-and-a-half years Martha Ford was the primary owner of the club.
Hamp said she would be supporting players and coaches kneeling on the field if they so choose. Hamp also said she would be open to the franchise bringing in Kaepernick — although at the moment the Lions have Matthew Stafford signed as the starter and gave Chase Daniel $5 million in guaranteed money to be the backup.
“If our coaches and our general manager all thought it was a good idea to bring [Kaepernick] in,” Hamp said. “I would completely support that.”.

Colin settled with the league but even now, it seems like the league is not ready to put things behind them. The agent for the 49ers QB has released a statement that explains why Colin is still looking for a chance to show his talent.

The #BoycottNFL hashtag created by Shaun King and later promoted by Boyce Watkins has been tweeted out by President 45 himself. We all know that 45 only tweets dog whistles to rile up the conservative right, and that is exactly what happened. The narrative has flipped from the kneeling being about anti-black racism and police brutality and made about veterans and the flag.

People are burning jerseys over the protests and threatening to boycott, forgetting that Black Americans were already boycotting due to Kap being freezed out. Now, out of nowhere owners want to kneel but none of them want to sign Kap. Why is this?

If they are kneeling in support of Kap’s message, why can’t he be signed? Doesn’t a third of the league need a backup QB right now?

Why did Ben Roethlisberger apologize for standing with his team in the tunnel? Mind you they were already standing at attention of the flag and only stayed in the tunnel because Coach Tomlin not want any protests.

Why is Alejandro Villenueva being paraded around as a hero by the conservative right? Even after saying he SUPPORTS the protests?

The Jets have no QB, Hackenberg is getting benched at practice for breaking huddles incorrectly, and the alternative is… Josh McCown. The great Josh McCown that for some odd reason has played for 10 DIFFERENT TEAMS and those teams have a losing record with him just being on the roster. I’m going to hold the obvious point there for another day.

Here are New York’s finest risking their careers and reputation against racists to support Kaepernick, again, a man who did nothing but engage in a silent non-violent protest.

It’s obvious at this point that if you hurt middle America’s feelings you are a villain no matter what. I would be more mad at Josh McCown still stealing NFL money over Kaepernick kneeling but I don’t get to decide who gets attacked in this media….
