Colin Cowherd is never short on strong opinions, and his annual “What I Would Do” NFL Mock Draft continues that tradition with a bold, unconventional 2025 edition. Instead of predicting what teams will do, Cowherd takes the liberty of playing GM for all 15 teams in this mock, making selections based on his personal evaluations, team needs, and overall football philosophy.

Here’s a breakdown of the top 15 picks from Cowherd’s latest mock draft and the logic behind them:

1. Tennessee Titans — QB Cam Ward, Miami (FL)

Cowherd starts things off with a big swing. Cam Ward is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in college football, and Colin sees him as a franchise-changing presence. For a Titans team in need of a true offensive identity, Ward’s arm talent and athleticism make him the face of the rebuild.

2. Cleveland Browns — WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado

One of the most versatile prospects in recent memory, Travis Hunter goes second overall. Cowherd loves playmakers, and Hunter is exactly that—on both sides of the ball. The Browns get a Swiss Army knife who can shift games in multiple phases.

3. New York Giants — QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

Colin doubles down on QB talent, putting Deion Sanders’ son in the Big Apple. Shedeur’s poise, pocket presence, and football IQ impressed Cowherd all season long. With Giants quarterback play still underwhelming, the Giants make a splash at quarterback.

4. New England Patriots — EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State

Cowherd believes in defense—and Carter fits the modern NFL mold as a sideline-to-sideline playmaker with elite burst. The Patriots need defensive juice, and Carter provides it immediately.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars — DT Mason Graham, Michigan

The Jags bolster their defensive interior with Michigan’s powerhouse lineman. Graham brings grit, motor, and intelligence—Cowherd notes he’s a culture-setter in the trenches.

6. Las Vegas Raiders — RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State

The first real surprise. In a league that often devalues running backs, Cowherd zigzags and picks Jeanty, a dynamic runner who can impact the game in multiple ways. He views Jeanty as a foundational offensive weapon.

7. New York Jets — TE Tyler Warren, Penn State

Cowherd loves mismatches—and Warren is a huge one. He sees the Jets getting a red-zone monster and a reliable safety valve for whoever is under center.

8. Carolina Panthers — WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona

Carolina desperately needs receiver help, and Cowherd provides it in the form of one of the most consistent, explosive pass-catchers in the draft. McMillan could be a true WR1 for years.

9. New Orleans Saints — CB Will Johnson, Michigan

Cowherd stays defense-focused with the Saints, nabbing one of the most polished cover corners in the class. Johnson has lockdown potential and helps reestablish a defensive identity in New Orleans.

10. Chicago Bears — LB Jalon Walker, Georgia

Physical, fast, and fundamentally sound—Walker checks all the boxes for Cowherd, who values instinctive linebackers who can lead a defense. He potentially sees Walker as a future All-Pro.

11. San Francisco 49ers — OT Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas

Smart, strong, and technically refined, Banks is a great fit for the 49ers’ offensive scheme. Cowherd emphasizes the importance of O-line depth and sees Banks as a plug-and-play starter.

12. Dallas Cowboys — RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina

Cowherd returns to the running back well, giving Dallas a power back to anchor their run game. With Tony Pollard gone and no clear RB1, Hampton brings toughness and home-run ability.

13. Miami Dolphins — OT Will Campbell, LSU

Campbell is nasty, experienced, and dependable—all traits Cowherd loves in linemen. The Dolphins get protection for Tua Tagovailoa and someone who can help control the line of scrimmage.

14. Indianapolis Colts — OT Armand Membou, Missouri

Indianapolis stays in the trenches with Membou, a rising star in the SEC. Cowherd calls this a “no-brainer” pick to ensure long-term success for Anthony Richardson.

15. Atlanta Falcons — EDGE Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

To close out the top 15, Cowherd selects an explosive edge rusher to elevate Atlanta’s pass rush. Stewart has the upside of a game-wrecker—and Cowherd believes that’s exactly what the Falcons need.

Final Thoughts: Colin Cowherd’s mock draft isn’t about consensus—it’s about conviction. From bold quarterback picks to running backs in the top 15, this draft reflects Cowherd’s belief in production, potential, and positional impact. It might not mirror what NFL teams end up doing, but it offers a sharp perspective on what should happen on draft night.

Not A Mock Draft Guy Colin Cowherd is back at us again with another 2021 Mock Draft. This is becoming a thing now. I’m pretty sure Colin is aware of the joke and is playing on it which is hilarious.

Here are his latest picks for the 2021 NFL Draft and some commentary below:

1. Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence QB Clemson
Ok Colin, don’t go crazy just yet. Keep it scratch with the #1 pick.

2. Jets – Zach Wilson QB BYU
Now that Darnold is in Charlotte the Jets need a QB for real.

3. 49ers – Justin Fields QB tOSU
Everyone is saying this is Mac Jones. Yes Fields is more “talented” but the 49ers are looking for a system fit.

4. Broncos – Trey Lance QB NDSU Bison
We knew Trey was going in the top 4 of this draft and here he is. As a Broncos fan, I’d rather stay at 9 and draft BPA than give up good picks to take another chance on a young QB. We aren’t winning Super Bowls any time soon anyway.

5. Bengals – RaShawn Slater OT NW
Makes sense for the Bengals DNA but I think with Burrow you have to grab one of these receivers.

6. Dolphins – Kyle Pitts TE Florida
Tua needs help but I don’t think Pitts will be there. It anything people are moving up for Pitts, not Lance.

7. Lions – Ja’Marr Chase WR LSU
If Chase is here at 7, I guess it makes sense. Gotta replace Golladay somehow.

8. Panthers – Penei Sewell OG Oregon
I don’t think Sewell will be there. But if he is, I still see Carolina trading out.

9. Falcons – Pat Surtain II DB BAMA
I still think the Broncos stand Pat at #9 and draft Micah Parsons. The Von Miller drama was too much and he is one of the oldest players on the roster now.

10. Cowboys – Jaycee Horn DB USC
If they cannot get Surtain I believe this could be a trade out scenario as well. That, or Jerry grabs one of those Alabama receivers. Remember who told you first!

Anyone who’s a viewer of Colin Cowherd’s show noticed that for some odd reason Colin had Trey Lance ranked in the top 3 of his mock drafts. The only question was why? What was the connection?

Well thanks to internet detectives and Colin’s own voice, we now know. Trey Lance is apparently dating Liv Cowherd who is Colin’s daughter and she apparently brought him over to the house where he met Colin. He must be a nice young man because Colin is going hard to push him in the top 3 of the 2021 NFL Draft board.

No word on if this is a serious thing but internet detectives say that Trey shot his shot in the comment section and it went from there.

Colin Cowherd from FS1 just dropped his first 2020 NFL Mock Draft. Now, Colin is usually 100% wrong about most things but for the sake of the title of this site let’s take a look at how Colin has things shaking out:

First of all Burrow and Young are cool. Those picks will happen. Book it now. But that third pick, Justin Herbert? How do I say this…

Not only do I not see Herbert going #3, I don’t see teams going crazy. How many times do we have to see Blake Bortles and Mitch Tribusky go way too high in the top 5? How much better is Herbert than Jake Fromm, Jordan Love, and Jalen Hurts? And you have to give up capital to go up and get him? Let me say it again Colin:

Simmons goes next. Cool. The Giants need talent anywhere they can get it outside of running back.

Tua to the Dolphins? I guess. Players who get injured in college also get injured in the pros. This just feels like another RG3 situation again. A guy with all the talent and should go #1 in every mock draft but is one hit away from being a backup player. Not sure I take that gamble in the top 10.

Next Derrick Brown over Mekhi Beckton? I guess it’s up to the eyes of the beholder.

Okudah to the Panthers works out great but is unlikely. The third best player in the draft won’t last to 7.

And that’s basically it. Check out Colin’s draft above to let me know what you think.
