“The Clippers are definitely interested in Chris Paul,” . “The math doesn’t really make any sense and Paul has basically told any of the teams that are interested in trading for him, ‘hey, I don’t want you trading your player for me. I want to just come and join you,’ but that’s really hard when you’re making over $40 million a year and another year for $40 million plus for next year. So Paul’s not taking any kind of buyout for Oklahoma City to then try and make up the money somewhere else because I don’t know that the buyout would make a ton of sense for anybody involved, even if the buyout were really high and then Paul went ahead and made extra money.

“Here’s something that did surprise me because it just feels like Kawhi is this distant, mythological creature that doesn’t talk with anybody. Apparently, Kawhi reached out to Chris Paul immediately and was like, ‘hey, you should come here.’ So that part is real, the pursuit is real, the interest and the math on it from Paul’s standpoint doesn’t seem to be all that realistic.”

But what’s also interesting is that the Clippers may change the team’s name and uniforms as well in 2024:

“Hopefully, by the time we’re done, it won’t be a Clipper logo,” Ballmer said. “It will be some naming rights sponsor.”

And Ballmer would not rule out changing the logo — and the colors, and perhaps even the nickname itself when the Clippers move into the new arena.

“We have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to really step our identity up another level,” he said. “I don’t anticipate making a change, but we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and that is the kind of thing you somehow do in consultation with your fans.”

Oklahoma City is getting a massive package of future picks as well as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari to deliver Leonard the player he wanted to partner with — George, according to sources.

The Clippers are sending the Thunder four unprotected first-round picks, one protected first-round pick and two pick swaps, league sources tell Wojnarowski.

Paul George was traded for two players, 5 PICKS and two pick swaps. Wow.

We even saw Mark Cuban rush over to DeAndre’s crib only to be literally left on his doorstep.

But with all this commotion there was an unlikely hero: Callie Rivers. That’s right, Doc’s daughter got DeAndre to stay in LA:

According to a report from Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, it wasn’tChris Paul, Blake Griffin, Steve Ballmer or even Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers who convinced DeAndre Jordan to stay in L.A.

Hm, interesting. Price’s report stops short of telling us exactly how Callie Rivers convinced Jordan to stay put with the Clippers.

But regardless, it’s hard to imagine playing for a contender and earning more money in Los Angeles didn’t have a little something to do with it.
