Gone is all the ‘CLEVELAND’ branding and everything has been stripped back to the basics. Very nice. Now let’s see if Baker can break the curse and deliver a championship in this uniform set.

As you know, the 2017 NFL Draft was one that had a lot of questionable selections in it. There were some pretty bizarre moments including the Denver Broncos reaching for Garrett Boles (only lineman taken in the first) to the Browns getting an additional selection to secure Jabrill Peppers.

But was it a reach? Is Peppers a concern off the field?

A Cleveland radio host insinuated Peppers might be getting his Future Hendrix on:

The Browns selected Jabrill Peppers in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, even after the former Michigan safety tested positive for a dilute sample at the NFL Combine in March.

Now former ESPN Radio Cleveland host Sabrina Parr thinks it was a mistake by the Browns and explained why Wednesday morning.

While comparing Peppers to troubled Browns receiver Josh Gordon, who has a long history of substance abuse, Parr believes Peppers also abuses drugs.

WKNR announced Wednesday night it had terminated Parr’s employment.

“He’s on the lean and the molly,” Parr said on “The Really Big Show” on ESPN 850. “The guy’s not going to make it. He’s not going to make it through the season.

“He’s another Josh Gordon … I’ve seen it first-hand from a different vantage point, and it’s the same thing all over again. How are you already high out of your mind, and you’ve only been here for a week.”

Even after show hosts Tony Rizzo and Aaron Goldhammer tried to get Parr to walk back her statements, she doubled down and even joked that 10-time Pro Bowler Joe Thomas was “on the lean,” which is also known as “purple drink” or “sizzurp.”

“I guess I can’t say certain things,” Parr said before she was interrupted by one of her co-hosts with, “No. You can’t.”

Now all of this is ALLEGED and I have no knowledge. I will just say that if he struggles mightily Sabrina’s words will pop back up into the conversation in Cleveland.

The Browns aren’t good. I’m sorry but there is just no way around the subject. Last season Hue Jackson came into town and brought RG3 and you know what? That led to absolutely nothing drastic in the W-L record.

RG is probably done as a starter for better or worse. The defense is good but when the offense can’t put any points on the board, it is kind of a moot point.

The Browns scored less than 20 points in 13 games last year. Can the problem here be any clearer?

Let’s take a look at how Gregg Williams might change things in Cleveland.

Here is Cowboysfan1993’s latest 2017 Cleveland Browns Mock Draft:

The Browns are under a new regime. While I still question the Browns front office. Their coach is one of the better ones. The Browns are just under 100 million in cap space for 2017 meaning they have a lot of dough to bring in FA if they choose to sign with them. They also have a lot of draft picks to use to bring in new blood as well as make trades if they chose to do so.

For FA the Browns should look to bring in offensive linemen to shore things up before signing or drafting a QB. Other than Thomas they don’t have much on the O line. I feel they should sign Ricky Wagner a RT from the Baltimore Ravens to pair with the future HOF. While Kevin Zeitler is a better player, the Browns should sign Ronald Leary from the Cowboys who is a mauler in the run game, and will come cheaper. Should be noted that he has a knee injury that could cause him to retire at any point.

I feel they should also make a play for Stephon Gilmore from the Bills to pair with Joe Haden. With their cap space, the Browns should have no issue signing all 3 while figuring out ways to improve their depth.

I think a smart move would be to trade the 2nd round pick they have to get Jimmy Garoppolo from the Patriots. The Pats want a 1st and a 4th, something they are not likely to get, so the best they could hope for is the first pick in the 2nd round. Getting Garoppolo could be a mistake or a huge win. It would give the Browns someone to play that’s probably better than what they currently have while they improve their roster.

The Browns have decided to part ways with Barkevious Mingo, trading him to the New England Patriots and netting a 5th round pick in return. New England stockpiling former first rounders is nothing new as Mingo joins former first rounder Jonathan Cooper in New England.

However something is new.

The Browns are starting to look like a competent front office as they stockpile picks:

2017 draft picks the @Browns have acquired: Philly's 1st, Tennessee's 2nd, New England's 5th, Indy's 7th. Also have Philly's 2018 2nd.

— Dan Murphy (@DMurph_BrownsPR) August 25, 2016

This all started with the Trent Richardson trade that netted Cleveland a first rounder for the disappointing running back. If Cleveland continues to clear house and get assets back for bad draft picks they may just be the next team in the city to win something.

See black people? You don’t have to march and protest with cardboard signs to get people to do what you want. When you hold true power you simply tell them “do xy or z is going to happen.”

That is exactly what the Cleveland Police union did to Browns running back Isiah Crowell.

They’re basically bullying the Cleveland Browns for an apology and money from Crowell:

Stephen Loomis, the president of Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, calls Crowell’s gesture a “store-bought apology.” In comments to TMZ, Loomis also described Crowell’s post as being as “offensive as putting a picture of historical African-American men being hung from a tree in the 60s.”

Loomis has a specific suggestion for what Crowell needs to do next.

“He needs to go to Dallas, help the families who lost their loved ones last week, write them a check, look them in the eyes and give a heartfelt apology,” Loomis told TMZ. If Crowell doesn’t, there will be consequences.

“I will pull Cleveland officers, sheriffs, state troopers out of First Energy Stadium this season if he doesn’t make it right,” Loomis said. “You’re a grown-ass man, and you claim you were too emotional to know it was wrong? Think we’ll accept your apology? Kiss my ass.”

Crowell has since coughed up the money. No words on if he’s going to Dallas.

I thought we were all against bullying?

I thought extortion was illegal?

I see the rules only apply unless… never mind, nothing to see here.

These comments are rather interesting…

Crowell has apologized and will donate money to the police:

I have no idea why he apologized. Because some white people got offended? Guess what? I’m offended when the killing of a 12 year old black boy by the police went unpunished… IN OHIO. I’m offended when a black man carrying a bb gun off the Walmart shelf got murdered by police IN WALMART…. IN OHIO. I’m offended when… see where I’m going with this?

These “people” who hide behind nameless faceless accounts don’t care about justice. They say NOTHING when black people are murdered on camera but all of a sudden can speak up because of the tragedy in Dallas.

If they really cared they’d speak on all injustice all the time. Not when it just happens to white police officers they identify with.

Mr. Crowell, here is what the people really think about you.

Each year lives are changed, and the 2016 NFL Draft will be no different. Corey Coleman became the man the Cleveland Browns used their first-round selection on. The Baylor wide receiver earned instant comparisons to Odell Beckham Jr of the New York Giants. Whether or not the case, he has talent, speed and power aplenty, and with the Browns in need of a WR, he’s going to be a game-changer. For fans, and fantasy players, he is most certainly this draft class’ one to watch.

The Browns are implementing an entirely new regime, and it will be built around the stand-out rookie. The No. 15 pick is excellent at catching the ball, and uses his turn of pace to get away from the opposition. Whether the throws are accurate or not, he has the ball-handling skills, and the field movement to make it work, and to trouble any opponent.

Coleman does hope he can emulate Odell. He explained “I do look at Odell Beckham. I do look at his highlights and try to see stuff I can take from what he does.”

Like Odell, he stands at 5-foot-11, yet can out-jump almost any cornerback.

He is so fast and smart that it might take double coverage to stop him. If that happens the field will open up for his teammates. Isn’t that what a star player should do? Yes. Simply by being on the field he can change the game with and without the ball. His Browns might be a far better team to watch this season, and with the NFL Super Bowl odds not yet reflecting Coleman’s arrival, you might want to bet now at Betway.com, you won’t regret it once he dazzles the fans with his touchdowns.

He will be catching the ball from Robert Griffin III. He was brought in to change the way they throw the football. With both men having played at the same college, albeit not together, their styles should instantly click. Whether he throws scrappy passes or airs it out, there’s no reason to think that Corey won’t be able to get on the end of the pass each time.

He won’t be perfect from day 1. However, if given time he will explode. Quite possibly this season. The Browns, more than any other NFL team, have game time to offer players at WR. He will get just that in Cleveland. Then his improvement will come quickly.

Do not be surprised if he’s the go-to man, a superstar from the very first play.

Whether you want excitement to watch on the field, to impress your friends with your predictions or a new fantasy football star to sign, Corey can be the man for you.

As a rookie the expectations aren’t too high, but the standard he will soon set will change just that. He’s that good.

Remember the name Corey Coleman.

The trades are coming in fast and furious. The Doug Pederson led Philadelphia Eagles are trying to rid themselves of the stigma from the Chip Kelly era and are going to do it in style. The first move of his first draft season? Jumping up and grabbing that #2 overall draft pick.

The Eagles have traded five picks to the Cleveland Browns to get that coveted #2 pick behind the LA Rams.

Here are the details of the trade:

Hopefully this helps the Browns provide some help for RGIII, and hopefully they don’t regret passing on Carson Wentz or Jared Goff in a few years (perhaps Deshaun Watson 2017?)

Eagles just gave Bradford and Daniel all that money… only to draft Goff or Wentz?

Maybe they are after Laremy….

The Cleveland Browns are trying to find their way. Out with the old in Johnny Manziel, Karlos Dansby, Dwayne Bowe, and in with the new in Robert Griffin III and Hue Jackson. Those roster moves are pretty exciting but this is the NFL where no one wins the Super Bowl on paper.

With that said, RGIII and the Browns are going to need more help if they are going to be competitive. This offense lost Travis Benjamin who quietly was one of the best utility players in the league. We’ll see if Hue and crew can get them right.

For now let’s speculate with twitch333 who just posted his latest picks.

Check out his 2016 Cleveland Browns mock draft below:

Be smart Hue about your picks.

1. Browns: Jalen Ramsey S Florida State

1st Rd pick #2

2. Browns: Josh Doctson WR TCU

2nd Rd pick #32

3. Browns: Austin Hooper TE Stanford

3rd Rd pick #65

4. Browns: Christian Hackenberg QB Penn State

4th Rd pick #99

More picks after the jump.
