This story is just starting to heat up. The internet speculated what could have gone wrong in Tampa after Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown took his pads off and walked off the field vs. the Jets on Sunday. It seems as if today we have a little more information.

No, AB did not quit his football career in the middle of a game to rap. Apparently he was in an enormous amount of pain and was being told he had to play. That is allegedly what the mystery conversation was about AB and coach Bruce Arians had before AB decided to quit on him in the middle of an active game.

Here is the news on AB getting an independent opinion on his ankle before the game:

Antonio’s friends were worried about the pain he was experiencing so they encouraged him to see a top surgeon outside the Bucs’ organization. That visit and an MRI confirm his serious pain and that story is developing.

Antonio is known for having a high pain threshold but the belief is Antonio probably should’ve never been on the field to begin with Sunday. An official statement from Brown’s camp will be issued soon. They have stayed quiet since Sunday.

Yeah, AB is about to sue the Bucs and get some sort of settlement money for this. I’m pretty sure a coach cannot force a player to play injured and for sure cannot cut him during a game for refusing to further injure himself.

FLIP THE PAGE FOR AB WALKING OFF DURING THE GAME

According to ESPN, there is now a strong rumor of a Odell Beckham to Tampa Bay trade. Tampa will likely lose Chris Godwin in free agency, so it does make sense. But will it actually happen? We’ll have to wait and see.

Tom Brady and the Bucs just won Super Bowl 55. It was a decent game, but we all knew that Tampa was going to dominate the makeshift offensive line Kansas City trotted out there.

Patrick Mahomes was pressured on over 50% of his pass attempts. You just can’t win when your QB is throwing the ball from 20 yards behind the scrimmage.

But what is more interesting is the fact that the Bucs “won the Super Bowl in free agency” and then went onto win the actual Super Bowl. That’s right. The Bucs won Super Bowl 55 through scoring points with players who all were acquired no more than 11 months ago. Crazy.

The Tampa Bay Football team has announced they are meeting with free agent WR Antonio Brown AKA AB.

Antonio Brown always wanted to play with Tom Brady and they looked unstoppable in the one game they played together in New England. I’m not sure the Bucs have enough snaps to go around to keep AB happy but if he will fall in line and be a role player for any QB it is his boy Tom Brady.

Here is what we know about the Buccaneers signing Antonio Brown:

Veteran free agent Antonio Brown will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, according to league sources. Both sides are highly motivated to reach an agreement. This move, once finalized, would reunite Brown with his friend and former teammate Tom Brady

The Bucs already have Shady McCoy but you can never have enough talent when forming a super team. Now we all know super teams typically don’t work out but it will be fun to see.

Fournette, the 25-year-old former Jaguars star, was released by Jacksonville on Monday, just two weeks before the beginning of the season, culminating a turbulent three-year stint with the franchise.

His deal with the Buccaneers is worth $2 million, and there are incentives that can boost it to $3.4 million, according to NFL Network.

Undrafted free agent tackle La’El Collins has begun to make his rounds and teams are rushing to sign him. After sitting with police for well over an hour in an effort to finally clear his name in the case of his ex’s murder, NFL teams are warming up towards adding the LSU Tiger to their squads.

We’ve already seen the Bills and Dolphins recruit Collins, but in comes an unlikely candidate and recruiter: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and #1 overall draft pick Jameis Winston.

Who's recruiting La'el Collins most aggressively? #Bucs QB Jameis Winston is right up there. Pushing hard for Collins to come to Tampa Bay.

Remember The Buccaneers drafted Donovan Smith in round two, so Collins would be a wonderful addition to the right side. The Bucs are taking no shortcuts in building a team around Winston.

This is quietly a common practice of NFL teams, but it has become a story in the media this week that more than one NFL team has hired a private eye to follow Jameis Winston around. There are only four weeks before the draft and teams are doing their best due diligence to find any skeleton they can in the top prospect’s closet:

George Whitfield, revealed at the Florida State pro day this week that his top pupil was shadowed on his flight to the NFL Scouting Combine by one or more clubs who wanted to observe him without alerting him to their attention

Team scouts have made it public knowledge that they will interview childhood friends, classmates, school teachers, professors, former employers, trainers, etc. Pretty much anyone that has ever come into contact with a top NFL Draft prospect is fair game in the process.

Do you think hiring a private eye is a bit too far? Or is all fair in love and the NFL? I mean, there technically isn’t any expectation of privacy when you are in public but what information can teams really gather? These kids are smart enough to know that they are interviewing for million dollar jobs and that anything they do negatively will affect those millions.

All in all, hiring a private eye to trail Jameis Winston is likely a waste of time. The Bucs likely learned useless information such as what Jameis likes on his Chipotle bowl and what mixtapes he has in heavy rotation right now.

Now that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed Dashon Goldson and sured up the safety position, word is that they have turned towards the corner spot as the next place of need. Most mocks have the Buccaneers drafting some corner so trading for Jets CB Darrelle Revis wouldn’t be a bad move.

Ironically in our latest we have them replacing DaQuan Bowers with a defensive end. However, trading the pick altogether for Revis isn’t out of the question according to Mark Dominik:

Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said Monday at the NFL meetings in Phoenix that he hasn’t ruled out including the 13th overall pick in a compensation package for Revis, according to the Tampa Bay Times. That’s a key development, because it was previously reported they wouldn’t surrender their No. 1 in next month’s draft.

“If we think it’s in the best interest of the team, we will do something — if that’s a player that everybody is speculating [Revis] or maybe it’s a player at a position that nobody has thought about,” Dominik told the newspaper.

Source: http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/9068525/tampa-bay-buccaneers-ruled-giving-first-round-pick-darrelle-revis

It may be better off if the Buccaneers wait.

The market for Revis is obviously not at the price the Jets are asking. Outbidding yourself is usually a mistake in any deal. Simply let Revis play out his last year with the Jets, then put the full-court press on him in free agency.
