Colin Kaepernick is being blackballed. There is no way to justify it now. The Browns cut QB Brock Osweiler and within 24 hours the Denver Broncos brought him in.

Now, yes, Osweiler will carry a salary less than $1 million dollars but that is beyond the point. The Broncos didn’t even have to think about bringing back a guy that they deemed unfit to be their starting QB just two seasons ago.

Brock didn’t play for the current staff, he played for Kubiak so there isn’t an excuse. You can’t even bring up the Mike McCoy connection because he left the Broncos as offensive coordinator in 2012 before returning this season.

The blackballing of a guy who kneeled to bring awareness to racial justice continues…. will YOU support the NFL this year? I have my answer.

I am a big fan of battle rap. There is this saying that one of the battlers has and it goes something like this, “The love is love but the hate is real.”

And the hate is so real for Texans QB Brock Osweiler.

Texans fans learned just what Broncos fans learned after seven games last year. The novelty of a strong armed 6’8 QB is not all that when at the end of the day he’s still a 6’8 QB.

6’8 QB’s are huge targets for the defense, easier to read, and naturally have wider throwing motions due to their arms. No excuses but it is what is is, and Brock Osweiler sure does struggle with the turnovers (8 TD, 8 INT, 5 FUM so far.)

Texans fans have had enough and are raising the money to pay Brock and get rid of him NOW:

The post reads as:

“I am a die hard Texans fan and we need to get rid of Brock Osweiler or we’re not going anywhere. He is a waste of 72 million and for a dollar a day we can get him out and make Deandre Hopkins happy.”
Another one:

“I like many of you fellow Houston Texan fans have suffered long enough this season with a blind man playing quarterback. Suddenly, Ryan Fitzmagic and Brian Hoyer don’t seem so bad. The Houston Texans paid 80 million dollars for an Airmen, which are those huge inflatable people outside of car dealer ships and such. I am done having Hellen Keller at QB for this great organization. We deserve better. Osweiler is not only screwing this team, but also my fantasy team. Deandre Hopkins last year put up insane numbers with Brian Hoyer. Yes the same Brian Hoyer who even the Browns did not want back. I expected a lot from Nuk this year. However, he can’t perform if he is consistently getting screwed by the QB.”

Everyone is talking about the situation going on in Denver right now where QB Brock Osweiler has rejected the Broncos and decided to sign with the Houston Texans instead. This leaves the Broncos with no starting QB due to Peyton Manning’s retirement as well as Brock bolting on the club.

Quarterback Brock Osweiler, the assumed heir apparent to Peyton Manning in Denver, instead will sign with the Houston Texans for four years and $72 million, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

So what does this mean for the Broncos?

They need to find a QB, and fast. That is obvious. But before I get to that let’s talk about Brock.

The Texans way overpaid to get Brock. $18 million guaranteed for a guy who’s only started seven games, went 5-2 and was benched in the last. Yes Brock is “young” but here’s a dirty secret: he’s already played four seasons.

He isn’t some rookie that was out there on the waiver wire. This is a guy that the Broncos had for four seasons and decided to stand firm on a certain number when discussing his future. This isn’t a guy that John Elway threw the kitchen sink at to sign.

Let him walk I say.

So what about the Broncos?

The Broncos still have the defense and as long as everyone stays healthy they will be in the hunt. Interesting names like Ryan Fitzpatrick and Colin Kaepernick have been thrown out there but as far as I’m concerned the only name that makes sense is: Robert Griffin III.

The Broncos need to look past Mike Shanahan’s obvious sabotaging of RG’s early career (drafting Kirk Cousins from day 1, playing him to injury, etc.) Just sign the guy and draft a developmental prospect to be the backup and backup ONLY.

Give the keys to RGIII for 16 games for better or worse. The worse that could happen is that he gets you a top draft pick to try again.

Everything will be ok Broncos Country, calm down.

What in the name of John Elway is John Elway doing?

I said it before the draft when I heard the rumors of Elway going after Osweiler, that I had no problems with that pick if it was done with a reasonable selection. Brock Osweiler is a good enough developmental prospect, with the mobility and confidence you look for at the position. The only problem is that the Broncos are trying to win NOW… again, how does Brock Osweiler standing on the sidelines help Peyton Manning win playoff games? What is the thinking here?

I’m still baffled by the selection, other than the fact that Denver had nothing behind Peyton. But was a second round pick really worth blowing on a guy that can’t help your team unless your best player goes down? Hmmm….

Besides that, now we are hearing that Osweiler is working on his throwing motion.

“A lot of times in college, my elbow would drop below my shoulder, if you will,”

“When you do that, you lose velocity, you lose accuracy, you’re less consistent with your throws. We basically made a huge point to bring that elbow up to a more traditional throwing motion and get it above my shoulder.”

wait… wat?!!

Didn’t the Broncos just get rid of a quarterback with a wonky ‘below the shoulder’ throwing motion?

I’m still skeptical how this pick helps the Broncos win the Super Bowl…. please prove me wrong. Please.

On the surface, I did not like the selection. I felt as if the team had way too many needs to address a backup QB.

A day later… I still don’t like the pick. Not that I don’t like Osweiler, he’s okay for a developmental guy, but there was more important things to take care of instead of grabbing a developmental QB so high. You just signed Peyton Manning… Y U NO DRAFT WR?!!!!

Nick Foles stayed on the board for a long time and went in the 3rd round… I felt he was just as good a prospect as Osweiler and the cost would have been much lower. Oh well.

Osweiler is the QB of the future now, like it or not Broncos fans.
