Eagles Only Mock Draft:

1. (22) Marqise Lee, WR, USC:
I think that Kyle Fuller, Anthony Barr, Odell Beckham Jr., and Brandin Cooks are off the board before the Eagles pick at 22. Lee is their fallback option and a pretty good one at that. Chip Kelly is very familiar with Lee because of his days in the Pac 12. Lee is a dynamic threat with good RAC ability (something Chip Kelly covets in WR) that has seen his stock fall due to a down year mostly because of inconsistent QB play and a lingering knee injury. Marqise Lee’s inconsistent hands scare me but I think he’ll break the trend of USC receivers failing in the pros and becoming a big time threat in Chip Kelly’s offense.

2. (54) Jeremiah Attachou OLB, Georgia Tech:
Attachou is my favorite edge rusher in an underwhelming 2014 class. He posses the ability to convert speed to power and win in one on one situations. Attachou is a versatile athlete that is comfortable playing in space. Billy Davis will use Attachou in a rotational role at ROLB with Trent Cole which will also maximize Cole’s effectiveness by keeping him fresh. Attachou’s and Barwin’s versatility at OLB will allow Billy Davis to use more hybrid looks on defense.

3. (86) Christian Jones, ILB, Florida State.
Jones shares a similar trait to the Eagles first 2 picks in this draft a trait that Chip Kelly covets on offense and defense, versatility. Jones is a great athlete that has long arms and is comfortable in coverage. He needs to add strength to shed blocks more consistently but has the frame to do so. I see Jones as a movable chess piece for Billy Davis because of his ability to play all 4 LB spots in a 3-4 base defense. Jones like Attachou is a rotational player in year 1 but will become a starter in place of a veteran (DeMeco Ryans) in year 2.

4. (122) Brandon Thomas, OG, Clemson.
Thomas won’t offer anything year one because of his recent ACL tear. He’s a 2nd round talent that will fall because of injury but I think the Eagles can stand to redshirt him this year. Thomas is a good athlete that’ll excel in Chip Kelly’s offense that relies heavily on athletic lineman making blocks out in space. With Evan Mathis aging and Todd Herremans declining the Eagles snag Thomas to replace one of the 2 in 2015 and my guess would be Herremans.

5. (162) Dontae Johnson CB, NC State.
The Eagles selected an NC State defensive back last year in the 5th round in Earl Wolff and I think they’ll do the same here. At 6-2 200 lbs Johnson has good size and is a physical corner with long arms that’ll excel in press man coverage. Johnson won’t be an immediate starter but will add depth to a position that sorely needed it last season. Johnson is a versatile athlete that can play CB or S this’ll allow Billy Davis to use more 3 safety hybrid looks without sacrificing coverage ability.

7. (237) Taylor Hart, DE, Oregon.
Chip Kelly coached Hart at Oregon and at 6-6 281 Hart has good size size and is a good depth option at 5 technique DE. Hart is a high effort type guy but not a great athlete. Hart doesn’t offer much in terms of pass rushing ability but his familiarity with Coach Kelly and defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro should maximize his potential at the next level.

UDFA Targets:
Jeff Janis, WR, Saginaw Valley State.
Larry Webster, OLB, Bloomsburg.
Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon.

1.	HOU – Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina. Best overall player in this year’s draft. Texans need a franchise QB but instead decide to draft a dominate DE to pair with with Watt, Mercilus and company. I see them adding a QB at the top of round 2 to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Case Keenum.

2. STL – Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn. Robinson has a higher upside but Matthews is the more polished player right now. I think the Rams take a chance with him despite his boom or bust potential. Best case scenario he’s Jason Peters, at worst he’s Jason Smith.

3.	JAX – Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville. Best QB in this year’s class IMO. Jags get their franchise QB and Bridgewater is a perfect fit for Jedd Fisch’s offense.

4.	CLE – Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson. The Browns add Watkins to an already impressive core on offense of Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, and Ben Tate. Add a quarterback and the Browns have the makings of a dynamic offense.

5.	OAK – Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M. The more polished Tackle of the top 2 prospects. The Raiders go best player available here and get a top 5 player.

6.	ATL – Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo. Atlanta has holes on their offensive and defensive line so they could go either way. I think they go best player available, which is Mack. Mack gives them a legitimate threat at 3-4 OLB which will allow Mike Nolan to use more 3-4 base looks.

7.	TB – Johnny Manziel , QB, Texas A&M. The Buccaneers could choose Manziel’s teammate at Texas A&M Mike Evans here but instead they grab a dynamic QB. Manziel has boom or bust potential but will benefit from sitting behind an established veteran like Josh McCown.

8.	MIN – Blake Bortles, QB, UCF. The Vikings need a franchise QB and I think they reach here to fill that need.

9.	BUF – Eric Ebron, TE, UNC. The Bills continue to stockpile weapons for EJ Manuel. Ebron is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. Too fast for linebackers yet to big and physical for safeties.

10.	DET – Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech. The Lions get a physical press corner to add to their secondary. Fuller has good size, speed and looks the part of a starting corner. Day 1 starter in Detroit

11.	TEN – Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State. Gilbert is the best player available at a position of need for the Titans.

12.	NYG – Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh. The Giants need help inside so they add Donald a quick, pass rushing 3-technique that’ll be a day 1 starter in New York.

13.	STL – Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M. The Rams add a talented, big matchup nightmare like Mike Evans to help Sam Bradford. Make or break year for Bradford, no excuses.

14.	CHI – HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama. Most complete safety in this year’s class. Can play centerfield or in the box.

15.	PIT – Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan. The Steelers have plenty of holes but they grab a franchise LT here to protect Ben Roethlisberger.

16.	DAL – Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri. The Cowboys are in desperate need of defensive lineman so any DE or DT here would be a good pick.

17. BAL – Zach Martin, OT/OG, Notre Dame. The Ravens need depth on the offensive line and Martin provides that because of his ability to play RT or Guard.

18.	NYJ – Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State. The Jets expressed interest in plenty of receiving options via free agency this offseason so I know this is a position they want to address. For a team devoid of playmakers adding a shifty receiver like Cooks makes them a whole lot better.

19.	MIA – Xavier Sua’ Filo, G, UCLA. Plug in XSF at RG or LG and you get an instant impact player for 10+ years. Perennial pro bowler.

20.	ARZ – Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA. The Cardinals add a 3-4 rush linebacker with huge upside. No pressure for him to play immediately because they have John Abraham in place.

21.	GB – Ra’Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota. The Packers continue to add depth and youth to their defensive line that was hit by injuries last season. Hageman has the power and quickness to play NT or 5-techinque.

22.	PHI – CJ Mosley, LB, Alabama. The Eagles go best player available here. ILB doesn’t look like a huge need until you consider DeMeco Ryans will be 30 next season and is on the downside of his career. Mosley would form a great tandem with Mychal Kendricks.

23.	KC – Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU. Dwayne Bowe had a down year and was not the #1 receiver Alex Smith needed. OBJ is a dynamic receiver with experience as a return man that can develop into a #1.

24.	CIN – Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State. Leon Hall has torn his achilles twice in 3 years. Terrance Newman and Pacman Jones are getting up there in age. Dennard is a tall, long corner who answered questions about his long speed at the combine running a 4.51 40.

25.	SD – Jason Verrett, CB, TCU. The Chargers get my #1 rated corner in this class here at #25, steal. Verrett is small but has elite potential. Would be a day 1 starter in San Diego.

26.	CLE – Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State. Carr has the most arm talent of any QB in the class. The Browns add their QB of the future and have plenty of weapons for him to flourish.

27.	NO – Dee Ford, OLB, Auburn. I’m not the biggest Dee Ford fan. I think at this point he’s a one trick pony but adding Ford to Junior Gallette and Cameron Jordan forms a nice young pass rushing trio.

28.	CAR – Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana. The Panthers could draft any receiver here (besides Kelvin Benjamin) and I’d approve of it. Latimer is a physical specimen with good ball skills that’ll be a perfect target for Cam Newton.

29.	NE – Louis Nix, NT, Notre Dame. I’ve compared Nix to Vince Wilfork throughout this whole draft process so who better to learn from than the man himself? Nix is a great athlete for his size and I think can be better than Wilfork was in his prime.

30.	SF – Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State. Despite his recent legal troubles Roby is still a 1st round pick. He has elite speed and is a good athlete with good ball skills.

31.	DEN – Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State. The Broncos replace Wesley Woodyard with a player very similar to him. Shazier is undersized but is a speedy, rangy linebacker that can cover a lot of ground sideline to sideline.

32.	SEA – Joel Bitono, OT/OG, Nevada. Bitono is a T/G tweener that can help the defending champs in both areas. I personally think he’d be best suited at RG.

Round 2:

33.	Houston Texans: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU.

34.	Washington Redskins: Morgan Moses, OT, UVA.

35.	Cleveland Browns: Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin.

36.	Oakland Raiders: DeMarcus Lawerence, DE, Boise State.

37.	Atlanta Falcons: JaWaun James, OT, Tennessee.

38.	Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU.

39.	Jacksonville Jaguars: Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State.

40.	Minnesota Vikings: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State.

41.	Buffalo Bills: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama.

42.	Tennessee Titans: Scott Crichton, DE/OLB, Oregon State

43.	New York Giants: Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame.

44.	St. Louis Rams: Jimmie Ward, S, NIU.

45.	Detroit Lions: Marqise Lee, WR, USC

46.	Pittsburgh Steelers: Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood.

47.	Dallas Cowboys: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville.

48.	Baltimore Ravens: Ahmad Dixon, S, Baylor.

49.	New York Jets: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington.

50.	Miami Dolphins: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State.

51.	Chicago Bears: Dominique Easley, DT, Florida.

52.	Arizona Cardinals: Deone Bucannon, S, Washington State.

53.	Green Bay Packers: Marcus Martin, OC/OG, USC.

54.	Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt.

55.	Cincinnati Bengals: Carl Bradford, OLB, Arizona State.

56.	San Francisco 49ers (from Kansas City): Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU.

57.	San Diego Chargers: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech.

58.	New Orleans Saints: Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss.

59.	Indianapolis Colts: Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi State.

60.	Carolina Panthers: Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State.

61.	San Francisco 49ers: Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas.

62. New England Patriots: Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech.

63.	Denver Broncos: David Yankey, OG, Stanford.

64.	Seattle Seahawks: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State.

These rankings do not reflect the order I think these players will be drafted. As is the case every year some players are over-drafted and under-drafted. My top 5’s consists of who I think the 5 best players are at their respective positions and where I project them to play at the next level.

Edge Rushers (4-3 DE & 3-4 OLB):

1. Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina): A once in a generation player. Freakish athlete that can play and excel in any scheme. Can win with power, speed, or finesse. Only questions are about his effort and work ethic and those don’t concern me. He’s the best player overall in this year’s class.

2. Kahlil Mack (Buffalo): Ideal 3-4 OLB. Has ideal arm length and size. Great in space and is disruptive as a pass rusher. Also plays the run well. Mack is a complete player.

3. Anthony Barr (UCLA): Great athlete with good size but is still new to the position so doesn’t have great instincts and that shows on tape. Good lateral quickness and pursuit. High upside player but needs to develop pass rushing moves.

4. Kony Ealy (Missouri): First-team All-SEC selection. Big, long and athletic. Best fit as 4-3 DE but can play 3-4 OLB if needed. Needs to add strength to get better as a run defender. Can win with power or speed when rushing.

5. Jeremiah Attoachu (Georgia Tech): Put on his Pittsburgh tape and he looks like the best defensive player in this draft. Wins with power and speed. Long, athletic and versatile and comfortable in space. I think he’ll excel as a 3-4 OLB.

Interior Lineman (3-4 DE @ 4-3 DT):

1. Aaron Donald (Pittsburgh): Ideal 3 technique in a 4 man front. He’s shorter than average and wins with his speed of than snap. Can struggle at times when his quick move is stopped. Needs to add lower and upper body strength to improve as a run defender.

2. Ra’Shede Hageman (Minnesota): Ideal 3 technique. Freakish athlete who flashes his potential but wasn’t consistent in college. Has potential to be dominate but needs to work on his technique or he’ll be a bust.

3. Timmy Jernigan (Florida State): Can play 0 or 3 technique in a 4 man front. Run stuffer but doesn’t offer much in terms of pass rushing ability. Quick enough to penetrate and make plays in the backfield.

4. Louis Nix (Notre Dame): 0 technique (Nose tackle) in a 3 man front. Great size (6’2 331 lbs) and arm length to eat up double teams and stuff the run. Quick for a guy his size and is good in pursuit chasing down ball carriers.

5. Dominique Easley (Florida): 2 ACL injuries derailed his career at Florida. If it wasn’t for the questions about his health he’d be a top 10 pick. Undersized 3 technique but explosive, quick, and disruptive. Geno Atkins/ Henry Melton type player.

Linebackers (3-4/4-3 ILB & 4-3 OLB):

1. CJ Mosley (Alabama): Smart, heady football player. Good athlete and is a sure tackler. Is a leader and a player you can plug into the middle of your defense and he’ll play at a high level for 10+ years.

2. Ryan Shazier (Ohio State): Undersized but has great speed when attacking the line of scrimmage or flowing sideline to sideline. Due to his lack of size and strength he’s best suited as a WILL (weak side) linebacker in a 3 or 4 man front.

3. Chris Borland (Wisconsin): Undersized like Shazier but doesn’t have the same speed. More a downhill thumper than a coverage linebacker. Gritty, hard nose player that’ll do the dirty work and is a sure tackler. Will contribute on special teams as well. SAM (strong side) linebacker in a 4 man front.

4. Christian Jones (Florida State): Easily my favorite linebacker in this class. Solid overall player who has great versatility. Can play all 4 linebacker spots in a 3-4 defense. Is a good athlete with the size and speed to be effective in coverage and against the run.

5. Telvin Smith (Florida State): Best fit as a 4-3 WILL linebacker. Undersized so needs to bulk up to consistently take on blockers in the run game. Flies around in coverage but struggles in a man to man when facing bigger tight ends.

Cornerbacks:

1. Jason Verrett (TCU): If Verrett was 6’ he’d be a top 10 pick but at (5’9 189 lbs) some teams may be put off by his size. Is great at attacking the ball in the area and high pointing the ball. The most fluid athlete at corner in this class. Verrett plays bigger than his size. Will stick his nose in in the run game and is a sure tackler.

2. Justin Gilbert (Oklahoma State): Great size and speed. Athletic enough to excel at corner and safety. Fluid athlete with good hips and quick fit in and out of breaks. Quick, technically sound back pedal.

3. Kyle Fuller (Virginia Tech): Physical press corner with good size. Sometimes overly physical in coverage but you can’t fault him for that. Sure and willing tackler.

4. Bradley Roby (Ohio State): Man cover corner with great speed and good ball skills. Struggled this year at Ohio State because he was primarily used in zone coverage. Sure tacklers with quick feet. Could add strength to help him against bigger receivers.

5. Darqueze Dennard (Michigan State): Physical press corner but not a great athlete. Can be beat on double moves and has questionable long speed. Struggles to recover when beaten of the line of scrimmage. Limited in zone coverage.

Safeties:

1. HaHa Clinton-Dix (Alabama): Rangy centerfielder with good ball skills. Has an Earl Thomas type ceiling. HHCD will come down and support in the run game and can matchup man to man on receivers and tight ends in the slot.

2. LaMarcus Joyner (Florida State): Doesn’t have great size but sure as hell doesn’t play like it. Versatile can play free or strong safety and matchup in the slot on receivers. Aggressive hitter and a roamer type. Tyrann Mathieu type player.

3. Jimmie Ward (NIU): Best man to man cover safety in this class. Centerfielder like HHCD. Good instincts and athleticism. Lacks ideal size but can play free or strong safety. Sure tackler.

4. Deonne Buccannon (Washington State): Rangy and aggressive safety. Is a big hitter. Has good instincts to diagnose and come downhill in the run game. Can play free or strong safety.

5. Calvin Pryor (Lousiville): On tape his game has a lot of flaws. Free safety who is good in run support but a liability in coverage. Will deliver big hits but whiffs on tackles too often. Boom or bust potential. Brando Meriweather type.

These rankings do not reflect the order I think these players will be drafted. As is the case every year some players are over-drafted and under-drafted. My top 5’s consists of who I think the 5 best players are at their respective positions and where I project them to play at the next level.

Quarterbacks:

1. Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville): Easily the best QB in this class. Bridgewater possesses great touch and accuracy. His deep ball needs work but that can easily be fixed by cleaning up his footwork. I’m not at all worried about the questions about his level of competition he faced or his size. Bridgewater has elite potential.

2. Blake Bortles (UCF): Bortles has great size (6’5 232lbs) and good mobility for his size. He can throw accurately on the run but overall his accuracy is average. Doesn’t have a huge arm which is surprising for his size. Not a polished prospect at all, he has major technical issues on tape but I saw improvements at his pro day. This shows he takes well to coaching which bodes well for his future at the next level.

3. Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M): Shed the Johnny Football mantra and you get a prospect with amazing elusiveness and short area quickness. He has good accuracy when he has a clean pocket but his mechanics break down when forced to adlib. Manziel is reckless when scrambling and often does too much which will drive coaches crazy. He has the tools but must improve within the pocket to survive in the NFL. His height and weight (6’ 207 lbs) don’t concern me.

4. Derek Carr (Fresno State): Carr has the best arm of any QB in this class. He’s a good athlete who played in an offense that asked him to throw a lot of short passes so he’ll have to adjust to a pro-style offense and route tree. Carr has mechanical issues (like every QB in this class) but they are coachable. I think he’ll be hurt by his brother’s failures in the eyes of scouts.

5. Brett Smith (Wyoming): Smith is a poor man’s Johnny Manziel. Smith wasn’t invited to the combine but ran a 4.51 40 at his pro. He’s not just a running QB he has a solid arm and good accuracy. Smith is a development QB who I think can be a successful starter in the NFL.

Running Backs:

1. Bishop Sankey (Washington): Sankey isn’t a burner but has speed to breakaway in the open field. He has good hands so he’ll be a threat out of the backfield immediately in the pros. He has good vision but average elusiveness.

2. Carlos Hyde (Ohio State): Hyde has good speed for a bigger back. He won’t make you miss in the open field but will run you over.

3. Tre Mason (Auburn): Highly productive as a junior at Auburn. I think Mason can be a workhorse in the NFL. He’s solid in pass protection at his size but could benefit from added strength.

4. Jeremy Hill (LSU): Has quick feet and great size. Im not as high on Hill as others but he can be a good rotational back in the NFL. He’s more of a power back which is why I don’t think he’ll be a full time starter.

5. Terrance West (Towson): West is a guy you can give the ball to 25-30 times a game and wear down a defense. West dominated in the FCS so I’m not worried about the level of competition he faced. He has good vision and the best feet of any back in this class.

Wide Receivers:

1. Sammy Watkins (Clemson): Explosive athlete. Not as polished as AJ Green and Julio Jones were when they came out but he’s the best WR since those two. Get the ball in his hands and he’ll break tackles like a running back in the open field.

2. Mike Evans (Texas A&M): The word that describes Evans best is bully. He has great size (6’5 231) and plays with a mean streak that I like. If the ball is in the air he’ll go up and get it. Needs to improve as a route runner but that’ll come with NFL coaching.

3. Brandon Cooks (Oregon State): Short speedster who can lineup anywhere on the field. Has quick feet which help him win easily at the line of scrimmage. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.

4. Odell Beckham Jr. (LSU): Dynamic playmaker with freakish vertical jumping ability. OBJ has experience as a return man so that adds to his value. Doesn’t have great hands which is a concern but he has a high upside.

5. Jordan Matthews (Vanderbilt): A tall lean receiver with long arms, good hands and is a fluid athlete. The SEC all-time leader in career receptions (262) and receiving yards (3,759) so he produced at a high level against stiff competition, not to mention uncertainty at QB.

Tight Ends:

1. Eric Ebron (UNC): Super athletic tight end that will be a matchup nightmare. Needs to improve as a blocker but he’ll dominate in the passing game. Vernon Davis type player.

2. Austin Seferian- Jenkins (Washington): ASJ left school early after a disappointing junior season. He’s a solid overall prospect but not a game breaker. He’ll be productive but won’t produce big plays.

3. Troy Niklas (Notre Dame): Wasn’t a great receiving threat at Notre Dame but I think he can be. He’s a big body who will be effective in the red zone but needs work.

4. Arthur Lynch (Georgia): Solid overall athlete. Not great at one thing but solid when it comes to route running, blocking, and catching the ball.

5. Jace Amaro (Texas Tech): Has good size but doesn’t play to it, he’s a finesse player. Doesn’t offer much in terms of blocking and often times looks lost as a route runner. His best asset is his run after catch ability.

Offensive Tackles:

1. Greg Robinson (Auburn): A high upside player with boom or bust potential. Has great speed and agility for his size and can develop into a dominate franchise left tackle.

2. Jake Matthews (Texas A&M): The most polished tackle coming out. Can play left or right tackle and dominate at both. Has quick feet and is great as a pass blocker.

3. Taylor Lewan (Michigan): Has some technical issues and isn’t an overly physical player. Good in pass protection.

4. Zack Martin (Notre Dame): Can play guard or tackle but is best suited on the right side. Could struggle with bigger lineman but he’s a technician. Plug him in your line and he’ll play at a high level for 10+ years.

5. Morgan Moses (Virginia): Great size (6’6 314) but is average as a run blocker and in pass protection. Needs to develop in both those areas.

Interior Lineman (Centers/Guards):

1. Xavier Su’a Filo (G, UCLA); Dominate player. Super athletic guard who mulls defenders. Can anchor in pass protection and moves well in space.

2. Gabe Jackson (G, Miss, State): Big, strong physical guard who is a dominate run blocker. Would fit best in a run heavy offense but can also anchor in pass protection. Not overly athletic but good enough.

3. David Yankey (G, Stanford): Physical but needs to add strength to be good at the next level. Has experience playing guard and tackle. Won a lot in college because of technique so that part of his game is refined.

4. Marcus Martin (C, USC): Average athlete but has good size. He could stand to add more strength and needs to work on his awareness or he’ll have to play guard in the NFL.

5. Travis Swanson (C, Arkansas): Best pass protection center in this class. Has good size and quick feet so can pull if necessary.

1. HOU – Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina. Best overall player in this year’s draft. Texans need a franchise QB but instead decide to draft a dominate DE to pair with with Watt, Mercilus and company. I see them adding Matt Cassell as a stop gap QB who’s already familiar with Coach Bill O’Brien.

4. CLE – Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M. Despite the front office turnover I still think the Browns covet Manziel. Size and pocket presence is my biggest concerns but he has the talent of a top 5 pick.

5. OAK – Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State. When I see Carr is see a QB whose skills need to be refined. Has tools but is a day 2 selection in my opinion. Need will drive up his stock

6. ATL – Khallil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo. Atlanta has holes on their offensive and defensive line so they could go either way. I think they go best player available, which is Mack.

7. TB – Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M. The more polished Tackle of the top 2 prospects. Donald Penn is in his 30’s so Matthews will be his future replacement.

8. MIN – Blake Bortles, QB, UCF. The Vikings need a franchise QB and I think they reach here to fill that need.

9. BUF – Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson. 6’1″, 211 pounds wide receiver that ran a 4.43 40. Eventual #1 receiver for EJ Manuel.

10. DET – Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M. Matthew Stafford loves to throw jump balls which Evans excels at. Number 2 receivers to pair up with Megatron.

11. TEN – Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA. The Titans are moving to a 3-4 and could use some help rushing the passer. Barr is raw but has the long arms and athleticism to excel at OLB.

12. NYG – Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan. The Giants couldn’t protect Eli Manning last year so they draft Lewan to protect his blind side.

13. STL – HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama. Most complete safety in this year’s class. Can play centerfield or in the box.

14. CHI- Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh. Quick, pass rushing 3-technique to replace Henry Melton assuming he isn’t re-signed. If he is, they could go CB here.

15. PIT – Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State. Ike Taylor is getting up in age and has lost a step or two so he should be moved to safety. On tape I think Gilbert would be better off at safety but his impressive combine performance improves his stock at CB.

16. DAL – Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State. The Cowboys desperately need a defensive tackle, so they have to consider Jernigan, but with Jerry Jones you never know.

17. BAL – C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama. The Ravens need more offensive weapons but could also lose Darryl Smith in free agency. Mosley is a good value pick here.

18. NYJ – Eric Ebron, TE, UNC. Steal at #18, super athletic tight end who will be a matchup nightmare. Go to guy for Geno Smith.

19. MIA – Zack Martin, OT/OG, Notre Dame. The Dolphins offensive line was a mess last year, they need 2 guards and 2 tackles. Martin can play right tackle or guard which makes him a very attractive option for Miami.

20. ARZ – Dee Ford, OLB, Auburn. Situational pass rusher his rookie year who will eventually replace John Abraham.

21. GB – Ra’Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota. Packers could be losing Mike Neal and BJ Raji in free agency. Hageman has the power and quickness to play NT or 5-techinque.

22. PHI – Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech. Can rush passer, play in space. Versatile player that Chip Kelly will love. Eventual replacement for Trent Cole.

23. KC – Marquise Lee, WR, USC. Dwayne Bowe had a down year and was not the #1 receiver Alex Smith needed. Lee didn’t live up to expectations his senior year but can develop into a #1.

Verrett is small but has elite potential. Would be a day 1 starter in San Diego.

26. CLE – Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State. Cooks is a little speedster, reminds me of Tavon Austin. Can do a lot of things and would be a nice complement to Josh Gordon.

27. NO – Kony Ealy, DE/OLB, Missouri. Ealy joins Junior Gallette and Cameron Jordan to form a nice young pass rushing trio.

28. CAR – Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU. The Panthers could lose Brandon LaFell and Ted Ginn in free agency. Beckham Jr. is a dynamic playmaker for Cam who could become a #1 receiver.

29. NE – Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech. Aqib Talib seems to be moving on in free agency. Fuller has good size, speed and looks the part of a starting corner.

30. SF – Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt. Anquan Boldin re-signed but Mario Manningham is scheduled to become a free agent. Matthews is a big bodied receiver with great speed (4.46 40). He’ll benefit from sitting behind Boldin.

31. DEN – Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame. Injuries and age make defensive end the Broncos biggest need.

32. SEA – Xavier Su’a-Filo, OG, UCLA. Super athletic guard that’ll be a major upgrade to an already solid Seattle offensive line.

1. HOU – Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina. Best overall player in this year’s draft. Texans need a franchise QB but instead decide to draft a dominate DE to pair with with Watt, Mercilus and company.

2. STL – Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M. Greg Robinson has a higher upside but Matthews is the more polished player right now. With 2 first round picks the Rams only need to go BPA here to be in good shape.

3. JAX – Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville. Best QB in this year’s class IMO. Jags get their franchise QB and Bridgewater is a perfect fit for Jedd Fisch’s offense.

4. CLE – Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M. Despite the front office turnover I still think the Browns covet Manziel. Size and pocket presence is my biggest concerns but he has the talent of a top 5 pick.

5. OAK – Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson. Raiders could go QB here but for a team that lacks a true #1 receiver Watkins is too good to pass up here.

6. ATL – Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn. Huge upside but needs a lot of coaching up on his technique. Has elite LT potential.

7. TB – Khalil Mack, OLB/DE, Buffalo. Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 defense relies on getting pressure with the front 4, Mack can help there.

8. MIN – Blake Bortles, QB, UCF. The Vikings need a franchise QB and I think they reach here to fill that need.

9. BUF – C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama. Bills could go for a skill position player here but I think they take Mosley to pair up with Kiko Alonso.

12. NYG – Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri. BPA at a position of need for the Giants. Pass rush was nonexistent for most of last season.

15. PIT – Jason Verrett, CB, TCU. Ike Taylor is getting up in age and has lost a step or two so he should be moved to safety. Verrett is small but has elite potential.

16. BAL – Marqise Lee, WR, USC. Joe Flacco needs weapons; Lee can be a solid #2 next to Torrey Smith.

17. DAL – Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame. For Cowboys fans hopefully Jerry Jones see’s the glaring need at DT.

18. NYJ – Eric Ebron, TE, UNC. Steal at #18, super athletic tight end who will be a matchup nightmare. Go to guy for Geno Smith.

19. MIA – Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan. The Dolphins offensive line was a mess last year. Need someone to protect Ryan Tannehill’s blindside.

20. ARZ – Dee Ford, OLB, Auburn. Situational pass rusher his rookie year who will eventually replace John Abraham.

21. GB – Jimmie Ward, S, NIU. Best man to man cover safety in this class. Packers desperately need help at safety.

22. PHI – Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech. Can rush passer, play in space. Versatile player that Chip Kelly will love. Eventual replacement for Trent Cole.

23. KC – Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU. Dwayne Bowe had a down year and was not the #1 receiver Alex Smith needed. Beckham Jr. can develop into that; has dynamic playmaking potential.

24. CIN – Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State. Leon Hall has torn his achilles twice in 3 years. Terrance Newman and Pacman Jones are getting up there in age.

25. SD – Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State. Tall, long corner. Questionable long speed but would be a day 1 starter in San Diego.

26. CLE – Kelvin Benjamin, WR, FSU. Greg Little is too inconsistent to be a #2 next to Josh Gordon. I’m not as high on Benjamin as other but his size makes him a viable option.

27. NO – Lamarcus Joyner, S, FSU. Replacement for Roman Harper; can play free or strong safety and slot corner. Forms a good young tandem with Kenny Vaccaro.

28. CAR- Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt. Panthers could lose Brandon LaFell and Ted Ginn in free agency. Big target for Cam who could become a #1 receiver.

29. NE –Ra’Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota. Steal this late in the first round. Has the power and quickness to play NT or 5-techinque.

30. SF – Allen Robinson – WR, Penn State. Anquan Boldin and Mario Manningham are both scheduled to become free agents. I expect Boldin to be back, Robinson can sit and learn from him.

31. DEN- Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame. Injuries and age make defensive end the Broncos biggest need.

32. SEA – Zack Martin, OT/OG, Notre Dame. Can play right tackle or guard which are two positions the Seahawks could upgrade.
