Over the weekend Bow engaged in a tweet storm with a few members of the AEW roster including Jade Cargill who tweeted back to him in character. Bow has said that he is looking for a match on AEW and Swerve Strickland is the first opponent he wants to face.

Will AEW sign him? We’ll have to see. Rick Ross and Trina have been on AEW television so never say never. Especially in the world of wrestling.

Sure, Double or Nothing was a decent card but any fan with an unbiased mind did not go nuts. There were a few things left to be desired and even more things that went wrong. So while AEW is showering in praise it is only right that the realist in me gets to throw his thoughts into the ethos.

So first the good:

AEW is original. It is not a relaunch of NWA, TNA, Impact! etc. etc. It is it’s own thing. I don’t like the acronym AEW but it isn’t W-something-something to compete with WWE. The production is way different than WWE and that is a good thing. WWE can learn something about bringing back themed stages and production.

The Young Bucks were the most impressive thing on the card in the ring. Their experience showed, and they put on an amazing match.

Pyro, PYRO, PYROOOO!!!! WWE has totally abandoned this concept but pyro MATTERS. Imagine if Braun Strowman or WWE Champion Kofi Kingston had pyro? It would add so much to their characters. Imagine if Batista never had pyro for his legendary entrance? Come on Vince, open up the checkbook.

And then the bad:

The booking. The show just felt like it wasn’t cohesive to me. The only cohesive part was the two segments with the Champion and even then Bret Hart looked confused as to what he was supposed to be doing. That’s how you unveil your title? Not good.

The use of over the hill ex-WWE stars. I thought no one wanted to see the Attitude Era anymore? That’s what people say when Vince books them over and over for WrestleMania so I have to be fair. No one asked to see a Billy Gunn, Tommy Dreamer or Glacier match in 2019. Sorry.

The John Moxley run in wasn’t organic. This was supposed to be your big fish, “Dean Ambrose” from WWE, and you blatantly copy the 20 year old WCW angle with Scott Hall & Kevin Nash? I’m sorry but the whole thing was cringe. Mox’s gear, even his name is cringy. Indy fans will convince themselves to like it but he will never recapture the magic of The Shield in AEW if he sticks to that look and that name.

And then the UGLY:
