The Ringer CEO and die hard Patriots fan Bill Simmons is back at it again for his 2021 NFL Draft coverage. Simmons was joined by Danny Kelly who broke down the four quarterbacks scheduled to go in the first round.

As we know now, the four quarterbacks are Trey Lance, Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and either Justin Fields or Mac Jones. Simmons says that there is movement within the Patriots organization to trade up in the first round for Justin Fields.

According to Simmons, the Patriots would trade with Detroit at #7 to get in front of Denver and the Panthers pick that is also “for sale” but still not high enough to beat out Denver who could grab whoever of the QBs are left.

Do I think the Lions will hand over the #7 pick to New England and help them draft Justin Fields? Crazier things have happened but the asking price this year is scheduled to be even higher than the Jimmy Johnson draft chart.

Will Bill Belichick shell out the picks to get Justin Fields? Will Cam Newton become a Pro Bowl QB again? Will Tom Brady play until he’s 65? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z.

Check him out below:

Todd McShay’s rankings are not any indication of how the draft will actually play out, just a rough estimate.
