10. Cowboys: Tavon Austin WR (TRADE)

Tavon Austin This is the player Dallas acquired in a trade. I understand what the Cowboys were thinking, but I question this addition especially now that Switzer is also gone. Austin has elite speed, but had his best games as a RB that functioned similar to Lance Dunbar. He is pretty shifty in teh open field and has a bit more power than Dunbar. He is now our ST returner, granted he’s had fumbling issues, and he couldn’t get going at all with the Rams. Grade: C+

11. Cowboys: Jihad Ward DT

Jihad Ward This was the Switzer pick. I do not understand why the Cowboys would trade away a player with promise. The only explanation is that he was not well liked within the organization. Not sure how true this is. But he could replace Beasley in the future. They traded him away for Ward who was unlikely to make the Raider’s roster this season anyway. He has athletic ability, but doesn’t use it. Looks like Tarazan, plays like Jane comparisons are all over. He is a soft player who hasn’t done anything in the league. Grade: F
