The Heisman Trust has a new member and his name is Cam Newton.

While this was not a surprise, what a lot of people were looking forward to was how would Cam’s NCAA investigation effect him with certain voters.  Earlier this week 6 voters publicly said they would not vote for Cam.

When things were all said and done, 103 voters (roughly 12%) decided that Cam Newton did not deserve the award.  Over 900 other voters decided he did. Andrew Luck came in as a distant second, while Kellen Moore and LaMichael James were just happy to get a free trip to New York.

Cam gave a very casual speech in which he thanked God several times, before pausing as he thanked his mother and his parents.  His father did not attend.  Cam also thanked his teammates and coaches while Coach Chizik sat in attendance.
